Pitch, Please: Can You Pitch Your Way to 100K Followers and Your First Million?

From Accidental Entrepreneur to Founder of Casa Noon

I’ve been thinking a lot about the many lives we get to live in one lifetime. At 23, I was managing a business. By my late twenties, I was a senior executive. At 32, I started my first company—accidentally. And now, in my mid-40s, I’m raising my first round of investment for my new beauty brand, Casa Noon.

The truth? I don’t feel different than I did at 23. I just feel smarter, more courageous, and far more willing to create on my own terms.

The Early Days: Accidental Entrepreneurship

My first company was a fashion incubator built with two other founders. We weren’t great entrepreneurs yet, but we were incredible community builders. We hosted 75+ events a year, connected emerging designers to the market, and created a launchpad for talent that went on to win CFDA awards, get shortlisted for the LVMH Prize, and land Forbes 30 Under 30 recognition.

We never raised capital. We survived on sponsorship pitches, and most of the time we were just trying to keep the lights on. That experience taught me a lesson I carry into every project today: community is currency.

Building Community Online: Oui, We Girl

By 40, I had grown a different type of community. My blog Oui, We Girl was pulling over a million views per month, anchored in astrology, moon cycles, and travel. It was proof that niche content, when consistent, can build a loyal following.

But I also hit a wall. I wasn’t sure how to show up fully. It wasn’t until I discovered Human Design that I figured out how to position my work in a way that felt authentic and useful to my audience.

That clarity gave me the confidence to scale—and by 43, I had earned my first million dollars in business.

Raising Capital and Launching Casa Noon

Now, I’m raising investment for Casa Noon, our sun-drenched beauty brand. The serum is finalized. Packaging is approved. And we’re launching with live events in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, and Miami—always at noon, of course.

These events will be free for our community members and first-come, first-serve. If you want an invite (and early access to product), join the Casa Noon list and follow along on Instagram.

We’re also inviting first-time investors into this raise. If you’ve been curious about investing in a brand, this could be your moment to step in early.

Lessons on Building a Cult Brand After 40

Looking back, here are the core lessons I’ve carried into this new chapter:

1. Start With Your Why

It sounds simple, but clarity of purpose is everything. Your “why” keeps you anchored through pivots, launches, and reinventions. For me, my through line has always been supporting creative entrepreneurs. That love shows up in Oui, We Studio, my books, and now in Casa Noon.

2. Speak to Your Dream BFFs

Forget the algorithm. When you create for your dream audience—the people you’d want in your DMs or sitting at your kitchen table—your content shifts. That’s when trust and community really grow.

3. Avoid the “Same, Same” Trap

It’s easy to fall into the endless scroll, copying trending hooks or formats. But sameness kills creativity. Use trends for inspiration, not replication. Put your unique voice and visuals on everything you publish.

4. Build Funnels That Convert

Funnels may not sound sexy, but they are the difference between content as a hobby and content as a business. My four-step framework:

  • See you – Magnetize your audience with something that shows you understand them.

  • I get you – Nurture with authentic storytelling.

  • I can help you – Make the right offer at the right time.

  • Let’s go deeper – Invite them into your world (programs, memberships, products).

This is the exact system I teach inside Oui, We Roll.

5. Pitch Like It’s a Muscle

Pitching isn’t just for sponsorships or brand deals—it’s career shaping. From securing Flowdesk as a sponsor for my Creator Summer School workshop to fundraising for Casa Noon, pitching has been essential.

If you want to sharpen this skill, join me for our upcoming free workshop: Pitch Please: Out of Office, Into Income. It’s for creators ready to land dreamy partnerships and use AI to streamline the process.

Why Tracking and Performance Matter

The future CEO mindset means paying attention. Track what works, what gets repeated back to you, what people click on. I use our Co-CEO GPT to upload results from emails, socials, and sales, then analyze what’s working. That feedback loop is how you grow with intention.

Upcoming Opportunities to Learn Together

Here’s how you can plug in right now:

  • Pitch Please Workshop – Learn how to land brand deals and partnerships without sounding like everyone else.

  • Oui, We Roll – Our flagship course teaching you how to create obsession-worthy content entirely from your phone.

  • Obsession-Worthy Mastermind – A three-month immersive for founders ready to scale.

  • OOO Club – Monthly challenges and community for entrepreneurs building businesses that run on autopilot.

  • Casa Noon Live Events – Join us in LA, NYC, New Orleans, or Miami for the first look at our serum.

Final Takeaway

Wherever you are on your journey—starting your first project, pivoting into a new season, or raising capital—you are not behind. You’re right on time.

The only way forward is to start. Build the community. Refine the funnel. Send the pitch. Trust your why.
